What a gorgeous day, so nice to have some warmth, despite the strong wind !  We checked out Wellmarsh Hide to see if there were any Avocet babes showing yet, but sadly, no sign. One plus, a pair of Common Tern seemed to be sitting tight, so fingers crossed.  Ratty showed briefly, and despite that, a few people were very pleased.  We had some news from Moi and Jonathon, on their way out they heard a Bittern boom at 12.05!!  So that made us move, and eventually we heard it also, as did a few folks.  Harriers were showing well, as were Common Buzzard, and we saw one Peregrine.  On the high tide there were six Whimbrel, and sixty Grey Plover pushed in.  Shelduck, Gadwall and Mallard babes are always a pleasure to see. On leaving met with Moi and Jonathon again, and they reported they’d heard two Bittern, one seemed to answer the other!! Wow!!!  Bearded Tit showing quite well, which is always a pleasure, and Reed and Sedge Warbler are still singing away.

A great day was had by all.
