Wetland Bird Survey for May 2020

The wetland bird survey for May 2020 provides a snap shot of birdlife across Elmley NNR on Monday 11th May - a hot windy day made counting dificult over the high tide. Many of the birds counted this month are attempting to breed on the fresh water marshes and will be covered in bird bird surveys later in the summer. Please note the Reserve will not reopen before 4th July for visits.

In-House Ecologist Wanted

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgable naturalist to undertake our Spring and Summer wildlife surveying across our 3300 acres wetland reserve. We would like an naturalist to join our team from this April to undertake our breeding wader survey along with a broader surveying role with full access across Elmley to record, identify and communicate about many of our wonderful inhabitants. The right person will have a 'can-do' attitude, be self-motivated, have well practised fieldcraft and an excellent knowledge of waders and other ground-nesting birds.
