Early October and another fine day to follow on from a grand end to September, although more water would be very useful. A few Hirundines passing through and a scattering of Wheatear, Bearded Tit and Wagtails moving about. 

Nice first sighting for Autumn of Stonechat ,Teal 800+, Golden Plover about the 300 mark, Shoveler, Gadwall, Wigeon 1000 on the Swale, single figures of Green & Great Spotted Woodpecker, Goldcrest, Water Rail (heard only),Snipe,Hobby, Merlin, Mute Swan,Chiffchaff and Reed Bunting looking very smart.

 Curlew and Lapwing numbers growing at least 300. As ever a good showing of Little Egret, Marsh Harrier, Buzzard and Kestrel’s .
