Not a very promising start to the day, still such a strong wind, but at least dry. Good to see Lapwing and Redshank nesting. Med.Gull and Avocet numbers increasing, Brent, Wigeon and Teal decreasing. The high tide was at 12:30, and Wader numbers as expected were fairly low. Migrants, as yet not arriving here, no wonder with these Northerly winds, fingers crossed for this coming Easter weekend, perhaps at least a Wheatear! In the afternoon the sun showed itself and we were excited to see a Water Vole also enjoying the sun. We spent a couple of hours watching this delightful little creature with a few Elmley Friends, John Snr.(the good looking one), Colin and Maureen, who all were equally as delightful!
