John and John’s sightings – 30th November

A mud, mist and magic visit to Elmley yesterday. Lapwing over 6,000 , Golden Plover 3,000 +. Wildfowl also in the Thousands, Teal 2000, Widgeon in the thousands on the Swale, Shelduck 50+, Shoveler and Pintail about in smaller numbers.
At least a dozen Buzzard , Marsh Harrier and Kestrel not far behind. Stonechats pushing double figures , Bearded Tit, Reed Bunting ,Rock & Meadow Pipit between 3 to 10 each, 20 + Snipe and a dozen Little Grebe and Egret.
At stumps around 3,000 Starling pushing through the reserve.
