It’s that time of year, fairly quiet, however, water levels are looking good on the Reserve.  Wildfowl numbers are starting to increase, including Teal, Pochard and Shoveler.  We had a falling tide, but Waders included Avocet, Dunlin, Ruff, Green and Common Sandpiper and a few Black-tailed Godwit. A Water Rail was heard from Wellmarsh, and a few Sedge and Reed Warbler are still with us.  Looks like Sand and House Martin, and Swallows are sadly well on the move.  A few young Marsh Harrier were about, also Common Buzzard and Kestrel. A short stroll down to the School House, produced plenty of late Dragon and Damsels, also two Wheatear, and three Whinchat.

Nice to see Ratty briefly, and a Common Lizard.

A few Butterflies were on the wing, Small Heath, Common Blue, Red Admiral and Small Tortoiseshell, two Clouded Yellow were reported.

Sun and cloud today, lovely sky.
