Mike and June’s Sightings – 20th September

From 0915 to 18.30. Tide at 17.00. A gorgeous sunny day, right through to evening. We finished off the work we started Tuesday on Wellmarsh pathways and bridge, kept at it until lunch and a bird watch beckoned !! Sightings as follows throughout the day during ‘tea-breaks’!
Teal 19, Mallard 37, Little Grebe 12, Little Egret 5, Marsh Harrier 9, Buzzard 14, Kestrel 11, Hobby 3, Peregrine 2, Lapwing 300+, Little Stint 2, Dunlin 11, Snipe 1, Green Sandpiper 2, Barn Owl 1(Straymarsh), Meadow Pipit 18, Yellow Wagtail 32, Whinchat 18, Wheatear 2, Reed Warbler 1, Raven 1, Goldfinch 18, Linnet 22, Reed Bunting 3. Plus Merlin, Short-eared Owl, and Bearded Tit reported to us.
Were rewarded with great views of the Barn Owl at Straymarsh.
