Wind NW force 1. Another gorgeous day, sunny and warm, will it last much longer?  Firstly, nice to see the Kingfisher by the predator gate, at last! Also, once at Kingshill, great views of a Long-eared Owl in the orchard, which will probably make a few people happy today, let’s hope he or she isn’t disturbed too much!! Although we had a full tide, it wasn’t very high, so Waders were not much in evidence.  From Wellmarsh there was one Little Stint, 18 Snipe and a few Lapwing.  Usual Raptors, Marsh Harrier, Buzzard, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, and two Peregrine.  Lapwing throughout the Reserve numbered easily around the thousand mark, but the Ducks are still away somewhere enjoying this weather!  Clouded Yellow Butterflies are still around in good numbers, today we had about eight or nine.  As usual, a thoroughly enjoyable few hours.
