In-House Ecologist Wanted

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgable naturalist to undertake our Spring and Summer wildlife surveying across our 3300 acres wetland reserve. We would like an naturalist to join our team from this April to undertake our breeding wader survey along with a broader surveying role with full access across Elmley to record, identify and communicate about many of our wonderful inhabitants. The right person will have a 'can-do' attitude, be self-motivated, have well practised fieldcraft and an excellent knowledge of waders and other ground-nesting birds. Wetland Bird Survey for January 2020

A spectacular 25,800 birds were counted on Monday 13th January around high tide, with over 10,000 wigeon and 8,000 lapwing counted not to mention lots of short eared owls amongst others. This is a snap shot of the birds at Elmley not a definitive list.
