09.30 – 17-00. Some cloud, mostly sunny and warm.  Tide today approx.16.00 After the recent rain, it’s surprising how quickly the Reserve ‘greens’ up !  South Fleet firstly, and some good sightings were had, the two Little Ringed Plover being the highlight.  After lunch, round to Wellmarsh, and came up trumps, even without much water !  As follows:-

194 Ringed Plover, 1 Sanderling, 1 Little Stint, 164 Dunlin, 4 Snipe, 6 Green Sandpiper, 3 Common Sandpiper, and 17 Whinchat.

The rest of sightings around the Reserve consisted of:-

65 Shelduck, c80 Wigeon, c200 Teal, 14 Tufted Duck, 11 Little Grebe, 7 Little Egret, 9 Marsh Harrier, 1 Sparrowhawk, 8 Buzzard, 5 Kestrel, 3 Hobby, 1 Peregrine, 45 Golden Plover, 2 Knot, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 37 Whimbrel, c275 Curlew, c 350 Sand Martin, 75+ Swallow, 15 Yellow Wagtail, 3 Wheatear, and c2000 Starling.

All in all, another good day.
