Mike and June’s sightings – 9th Dec

Little Egret 9, Grey Heron 4, Greylag Goose 130, Canada 70, Barnacle 24, Brent 190+, Shelduck 450+, Mallard c150, Shoveler 27, Wigeon 900+, Teal 3,500+, Marsh Harrier 9, Buzzard 7, Kestrel 5, Grey Plover c25, Knot c60, Turnstone 5, Dunlin 18, (these Waders seen from Wellmarsh), Curlew c500, Snipe 1, Ruff 1, Short-eared Owl 1, Barn Owl 2, Little Owl 1, Stonechat 2, Goldfinch 9, Reed Bunting 2.
Thousands of Lapwing, Golden Plover and other Waders about, who, at the moment are favouring Rose Cottage area, but when in flight, fantastic sights to be had.
A dry, bright but much cooler day, tinged with great sadness at the loss of our dear Steve.
